The Mission-to-Mission Sale is located in our 5th Avenue building. Here, members and friends of NBUMC provide a place for the citizens of the Beaver Valley to purchase gently used items. The sale contains household items, clothing, and other day-to-day necessities at a very reasonable price. This mission allows BV residents to provide necessary items for their families, and for NBUMC to lend a helping hand.
Profits from this sale go to support the local missions of NBUMC as well as the missions of the United Methodist Church around the country and the world.
**The Sale is OPEN every Tuesday and/or when the big signs are posted out front.**
We send several of our members to the NB Elementary School each week to read one-on-one with the elementary students. The teachers are already beginning to see positive changes in some of their most difficult students due to the personal time spent with our volunteers. If you would like to be a Reading Buddy, just contact the church office and provide your contact information.
Members of NBUMC support our local soup kitchen by providing cooks, servers, and hostesses on a regular basis each month. We also frequently donate food stuffs and or funds to provide supplies. It is a regular local mission of our church.
The Care Wear group is an ecumenical group of ladies who meet each Wednesday morning in the NBUMC Education Building to create clothing for young children. These ladies sew new clothing for infants and young children.

The Beaver Valley Piece Makers is an ecumenical group of women who meet in the NBUMC Fellowship Hall one Saturday per month to continue the fine art of quilt making.
Meeting each Sunday in the McPherson Chapel at 10:00am, we invite you to join us for a light breakfast as we fellowship and study through the Bible together between worship services.
The choir helps provide meaningful music to the 11am traditional services. Each week, they help lead the congregation in hymn singing, as well as offer up special anthems in another way to praise God and enhance the worship. These anthems seek to follow the lectionary and sermons, and so involve a wide range of composers, styles, and genres to experience. Rehearsals are held once a week on Thursday evenings from 7 to 8:30pm in the sanctuary, as well as a pre-service warm-up that begins at 10:15am. This group is comprised solely of volunteers, so no prior musical training is necessary. All that is asked of you is a love of God, a love of song, and the enthusiasm to learn and create!
JOY stands for "Just Older Youth" - a group of all ages that meets the first Wednesday of the month. The monthly JOY luncheon is always sure to provide great fellowship, good food, and interesting activities and programs. There is no JOY lunch during Lent due to the Ministerium sponsored lunches on Wednesday. Lunches start at noon.
The United Methodist Men meet the fourth Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. and host a dinner open to all men of New Brighton. A speaker is featured each month who gives a presentation relevant to the needs and interest of men of all ages. This diverse group of men has about 60 members from churches across New Brighton. A "Free Will" offering is taken at each meeting to support local missions.
The United Methodist Women of NBUMC meet monthly for a luncheon and presentation, while continuously putting on fundraisers and supporting NBUMC ministries. These are "women with a purpose" who act out the values of the national UM Women; Faith, Hope, and Love in Action.
